Career Technology becomes easier when students connect theory to practical work. Revision should cover tools, materials, safety, measuring, design, production, entrepreneurship, drawing, and the reasons behind each process.
Quick Revision Tips
- Learn tools by name, use, safety rule, and care method.
- Group materials into wood, metal, textiles, food, and other practical areas.
- Practise design-process questions with ordered steps.
- Use diagrams or sketches when a topic involves parts, shapes, or layout.
Connect Tools to Uses
Do not learn tool names alone. For each tool, write what it is used for, one safety rule, and how to care for it. This prepares you for questions that ask about use, maintenance, hazards, or correct handling.
If two tools look similar, compare them in a table. A table can show the name, material, function, and safety point in a way that is easy to review.
Revise Safety First
Safety appears across practical subjects because careless work can cause injury or damage. Learn personal safety, workshop safety, kitchen safety, tool safety, and hygiene rules.
A strong safety answer is specific. Instead of writing be careful, explain the action, such as keep sharp tools pointed away from the body or switch off electrical equipment before cleaning.
- Wear suitable protective clothing where needed.
- Keep work areas clean and dry.
- Use the correct tool for the task.
- Store tools safely after use.
Understand the Design Process
Design questions often ask students to identify a problem, suggest ideas, choose a solution, make the product, test it, and improve it. Learn the order of these steps and what happens at each stage.
When revising, choose simple products around you and describe how they could be improved. This builds the thinking needed for design and production questions.
Use Practice Questions Well
Career Technology questions may use practical words such as measure, mark out, cut, join, finish, garnish, preserve, advertise, or evaluate. Write a personal glossary of these words.
After each quiz, note whether the mistake came from forgetting a term, misunderstanding a process, or missing a safety rule. Then revise that exact area.
